That's a fascinating connection, I hadn't thought about that. But there is a connection between the theoretical awareness of the nonhuman forces shaping reality in the 90s (technology, media, "the text") and the increasingly aggressive interventions by nonhuman forces in the UFO/abduction world. Maybe the greys are the earliest masks of the intelligent machines to come, leaning back through time...

This really strikes a chord with the late 20th century abduction tropes of extremely theatrical reproductive scenarios (stealing of semen/ ovaries, birthing hybrids, etc.) that have been reported by many abductees. Avoiding a literal interpretation, what do these acts "mean"? Would love to see him comment on this phenomena in relation to "intelligent machines" outlined above.
